Inspired by living in an ongoing renovation for much of his teen years at the Keremeos Grist mill heritage site as well as his love of wood and creating things, Gord Freeman, owner of Freeman Construction Ltd , decided in 1980 to make a career as a builder.
After years of trade school, business school and working as a carpenter in Vancouver, he launched Freeman Construction Ltd 1989.
The lure of Vancouver Island, with its beautiful mountains, beaches and people, was too strong to resist so he packed his bags, moved over, designed and built a home and started a family.
Ever since, he has been building and enjoying the many outdoors pursuits that the island and the world have to offer.
